Last Updated: June 11, 2025

Introduction

Inscribe (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your data when you use the Inscribe application (“Inscribe” or “the Application”), which secures data and intellectual property by documenting, labeling, classifying data, and managing encryption for files. By using Inscribe, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information to provide and improve Inscribe’s services:

1.1 Personal Information

  • Account Information: When you create an Inscribe account, we collect your name, email address, and password. You may also provide optional information such as a phone number or organization name.
  • Billing Information: If you subscribe to a paid plan, we collect payment details (e.g., credit card information or other payment method data) through our third-party payment processor. We do not store full payment information on our servers.
  • User Communications: Information you provide when you contact us for support, feedback, or inquiries, including email content or chat logs.

1.2 Non-Personal Information

  • Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with Inscribe, such as features used, time spent in the Application, and log data (e.g., IP address, browser type, device information, and operating system).
  • File Metadata: Inscribe collects metadata about files you upload or process, such as file names, sizes, types, labels, classifications, and encryption status, to enable documentation and management. We do not access or store the content of your files unless explicitly authorized for specific features (e.g., data classification).
  • Analytics Data: We collect anonymized data to monitor Application performance, such as crash reports, error logs, and usage trends.

1.3 Automatically Collected Information

  • Cookies and Similar Technologies: Inscribe uses cookies and similar technologies to enhance user experience, authenticate sessions, and analyze usage patterns. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
  • Device Information: We collect device-specific information, including hardware model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers, to optimize compatibility and security.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to provide, maintain, and improve Inscribe’s functionality, as well as to protect your data and intellectual property. Specific uses include:

  • Service Delivery: To create and manage your account, process file uploads, apply labels and classifications, and manage encryption keys for securing your files.
  • Security: To implement robust encryption, access controls, and monitoring to protect your data and intellectual property from unauthorized access or breaches.
  • Personalization: To tailor the Application experience, such as suggesting relevant labeling or classification options based on your usage patterns.
  • Support: To respond to your inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and provide customer support.
  • Analytics and Improvement: To analyze usage trends, diagnose technical issues, and enhance Inscribe’s features and performance.
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal processes, such as responding to lawful requests from authorities.

3. Data Security and Encryption

Inscribe is designed to secure your data and intellectual property through the following measures:

  • Encryption: All files processed by Inscribe are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption and in transit using TLS 1.3. Encryption keys are managed securely and are accessible only to authorized users.
  • Data Classification and Labeling: Inscribe allows you to document, label, and classify data to enforce access controls and ensure compliance with your organization’s policies.
  • Access Controls: We implement role-based access controls to ensure only authorized users can access specific data or features.
  • Regular Audits: We conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to maintain the integrity of our systems.
  • No Content Access: Unless explicitly authorized (e.g., for automated classification), Inscribe does not access or process the content of your files, only their metadata.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and encryption keys.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We work with trusted third-party service providers (e.g., cloud hosting, payment processors, analytics providers) who assist in operating Inscribe. These providers are bound by confidentiality agreements and are only given access to the minimum data necessary to perform their functions.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, such as in response to a court order, subpoena, or other legal process.
  • Business Transfers: If Inscribe is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction. We will notify you before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
  • With Your Consent: We may share your information with third parties if you explicitly consent, such as when integrating Inscribe with other applications.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information and file metadata for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide Inscribe’s services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information and file metadata within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal or compliance purposes. Anonymized usage data may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access and Update: You can access and update your account information through Inscribe’s settings.

  • Data Portability: You can request a copy of your personal information in a structured, machine-readable format by contacting us.
  • Restrict Processing: In certain jurisdictions, you may have the right to restrict how we process your data. Contact us to exercise this right where applicable.

7. International Data Transfers

Inscribe operates globally, and your data may be processed or stored in countries outside your region, including the United States. We ensure that any international data transfers comply with applicable data protection laws, such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), through mechanisms like Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

8. Third-Party Integrations

Inscribe may allow you to integrate with third-party services (e.g., cloud storage providers). These integrations are optional and require your explicit consent. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services. Please review their privacy policies before enabling integrations.
